Hop (2011) Review

This family fun film is about a Bunny called E.B (Russell Brand) who's future is forced to be the Easter bunny, when all he wants to do is drum! E.B escapes from Easter island and goes to Hollywood where he meets Fred (James Marsden), but as they draw closer and closer to Easter who will the Easter bunny be?

I know watching a PG film without being forced to at my age is a little bit childish, but i really liked this film! Even before the movie started the little Illumination Entertainment 'Bunny' animation had me giggling, i knew this was going to be a good one. I have to admit though that the storyline was a little bit predictable, but do you expect anything else from a children film? :) And of course i loved Fred (Marsden), he was funny like always. It took me a while to realize that E.B's voice was Russell Brand and normally i don't like him, but he was really funny and the humor wasn't the usual crudeness. However, some of the jokes are a bit cheeky or adultish for children, so i think this is also a good one for anyone to see. My favourite charterer was the cheeky chick Carlos! The Mexican accent and evil scheming won me over in seconds and plus he was hilarious! The must-watch scenes are: The 'I want Candy' sing-a-long (Though i can never forgive James Marsden for being sooo cheesy in the song:(, and the Chick Carlos-Bunny Transformation scene and the Drumming/Take off scene. I actually liked the music and had some good laughs :) However, I thought that some bits were really cheesy and the ending was disappointing and James Marsden looked pretty gay getting into a spaceship pulled by baby chicks :/ and i wish they didn't give so many irrelevant details.

Overall, The film is enjoyable for any age and is all-round fun, however if you are expecting a child's film with a different you will be disappointed a bit like i was. I think its a 8.2/10.
